Prospective mentors and mentees are required to apply for acceptance into the Pursuing the Esquire Mentorship Program during open the application period.

Eligibility & Requirements for Mentees

We are seeking motivated and determined rising minority college Juniors, Seniors, and Graduates of color who are planning to attend law school in 2025 0r 2026 and rising minority 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls of color incoming or currently enrolled in law school to join our exciting mentorship program for one (1) school year. (see FAQs for more information on eligibility)

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled College Junior or Senior of color at a university or college for the 2024-2025 school year, domestically or internationally.                   

  • Incoming or currently enrolled law students of color at a law school for the 2024-2025 school year, domestically or internationally.

  • Graduate of a university or college of color who plans to attend law school in 2025 or 2026.

  • Demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in the legal profession.

Requirements

  • Completion of the mentorship program application.

  • For those who are selected and invited to the next round, a video interview is required. Invitations will be extended via email.

Eligibility & Requirements for Mentors

Mentorship is an important and valuable resource for aspiring minority lawyers. We are looking for junior attorneys of color who are excited and passionate about giving back and supporting the next generation of rising attorneys of color. 

Eligibility 

  • You are a recent law school graduate of color (graduation between 2019-2024) OR

  • You are a practicing attorney of color who is within your first five years of practice (0-5 years of experience)

Requirements

  • Completion of the mentor application.

  • For those who are selected and invited to the next round, a video interview is required. Invitations will be extended via email.
